College Now, a free college transition and dual-enrollment program, is a major partnership between CUNY Office of K-16 Initiatives and the New York City Department of Education, enlisting 18 colleges and over 470 NYC public high schools in its mission to help students successfully transition to college.
Debating U.S. history
Debating U.S. History provides a comprehensive college-readiness curriculum for a U.S. History and Government New York State Regents-based course as well as a series of day-long professional development workshops and classroom visits to help participating teachers implement the program and adapt it to their needs.
Early College Initiative (ECI)
ECI at CUNY designs, develops, and supports schools that make earning a college degree more accessible, affordable, and attainable. ECI promotes social and economic mobility by restructuring the educational experience for students who are traditionally underrepresented in higher education.
Cuny Explorers
CUNY Explorers to ensure that every seventh-grade student is exposed to a college-going culture and has the opportunity to visit a college campus at least once. In the 2018-2019 academic year, CUNY Explorers will host up to 70,000 middle school students at fifteen CUNY campuses for an engaging and customized campus visit experience.
CUNY Lessons In Navigating College Transitions (LINCT)
CUNY LINCT prepares graduating seniors at 100+ NYC public schools for academic success in college. Through year-long, credit-bearing math and English courses offered as part of students’ regular school day and course sequence, LINCT aims to ensure that incoming CUNY students are eligible to take and succeed in credit-bearing courses upon arrival at college.
CUNY Network For College Success
The CUNY Network for College Success aims to significantly increase college persistence and graduation rates in New York City by coordinating student supports, through harnessing the collective efforts of youth-serving organizations and CUNY college advisors, counselors and student success professionals.
The New York City Science And Engineering Fair (NYCSEF)
NYCSEF is the largest high school research competition in NYC with 4,000+ students competing since 2008. NYCSEF has advanced 200 students to the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), and they have earned $300,000+ in prizes and scholarships.
CUNY Tutor Corps
The CUNY Tutor Corps in Math and Computer Science brings students from CUNY colleges into middle and high school classrooms, helping them become highly effective tutors and teaching assistants in the mathematics and computer science classrooms of 180 schools by 2020. The Tutor Corps is a partnership between CUNY, the Office of the Mayor, New York City Department of Education (DOE), and others.
